Join the Adventure: the Auction

Dear King Community,

We are all very pleased by our recent Community Dinner.  It was a fun evening and showed how many hands make even big parties easy to accomplish!

Our next gathering is King’s 3rd Annual Auction and Talent Show on Thursday, April 30th.  The theme for this year’s event is “Join the Adventure”.  The goal for this event is to raise lots of money for the school and have a fun event for all.  Like the dinner, we hope that by spreading a little work among many, it will be easy to pull this together with great results.

We are asking you to “Join the Adventure” now by soliciting three auction items. You can ask friends, family, artists or businesses for a contribution, or contribute something personally. We welcome hand crafted items or services. The process has four simple steps.

  1. Print the attached solicitation letter and donation form. (Printed copies of the solicitation letter and donation form will be available at the office.)
  2. Decide who you want to approach. (If it’s a business, please email the name to Sue Carlson carlss@portlandschools.org so we do not double up on solicitations.
  3. Help your donor fill out the donation form.
  4. Deliver the item with the form to the King Middle School office.

Have fun with this. You will find an enormous amount of goodwill out there even in tough times.  Supporting our children’s education is truly good work.
